Last night I ended up doing my first all-nighter ever to get a project finished off. It's not something I really want to do ever again, and definitely not anytime soon.
But I have to say... the transition from the dead silence of night to dawn-break is quite magical. Gradually, you start to hear the sound of cars moving around outside, and birds waking and chirping. Blue early-morning predawn light starts to glow through the curtains, seeping into the room previously kept glowing warm and bright by the light bulbs "all night long" as that famous song says.
Looking forward to a good night's rest tonight at last.
