I'm proud to announce some exciting news! My paper (with pepeland as co-author) about our work on Grease Pencil has been accepted to Siggraph Asia 2015! Woohoo!!!
Siggraph Asia 2015 will be held in Kobe, Japan from November 2-5. I'm excited to be attending and presenting my first paper at an international conference :)
I actually got the news 2 weeks ago, but have been holding off making any announcements about this until after the final "camera ready" paper + all the related paperwork/forms required were submitted, as there was quite a tight turnaround time on getting all those sorted.
It was an amazing feeling spamming the refresh button and finally seeing that it had been accepted. Of course, this merited an epic "happy dance" ;)
I'll be giving an 18 minute talk at the conference about Grease Pencil. I'm still figuring out what I'll show during my talk, so if anyone has any impressive Grease Pencil demos, I'd love to get in touch.
Japan, here I come!
Congratulations! And thank you for your hard work. :)
ReplyDeleteHuge congratulations Josh!! Your work on this area of Blender has really opened up the ability for me to use Blender as a 3D storyboarding tool
ReplyDeleteAmazing work ! Pepeland has used grease pencil in amazing ways used in his Alike short, maybe you can showcase some of his work during your show as a section of your presentation, just an idea.
ReplyDeleteCONGRATULATIONS!..
ReplyDeleteI "knew" you were not just a normal blender user!
:)
Congratulations. Do you plan to put the paper (and the demo) online? I cannot find it here unfortunately: http://kesen.realtimerendering.com/siga2015Papers.htm. Thanks.
